hey mom and dad!

i'm in the country now! it's so crazy. i'm so sorry i didn't get to phone you at all in austria, they didn't have any phones and we were in a super big rush. but i'm here and i've been enjoying it so far. and i'd rather use this email, because it's much easier.

anyone who said a mission was easy, was mistaken. it's very hard work, but i'm trying to do as best i can. first day was nice when we met the mission president, his wife, the ap's and a senior couple. the mission home is amazing, it used to be a popular beer house, but it's a little bit nicer as a mission home with a baptistry and a chapel. we went on our prague walk and we saw so many amazing things. the ap's took us on it and other than telling us facts and experiences in prague, they kept saying that we were so lucky to come here at such an amazing time. apparently so far as of 2008 they've already doubled last year's total baptism number. truly amazing. we saw some amazing things, but it was amazingly hot. after seeing the sights we went to a namesti (town square-there's many in every city) and started to contact. it was a little scary at first, but eventually we could actually say some things we wanted to. and my mtc comp and i met this super nice guy who bought us some candy as we held his bike. then we got some awesome food with some fruit dumplings. absolutely amazing. then we went home and went to sleep.

Some MTC avtivities

The days in the MTC were filled with activities. Learning the Czech Language, enjoying the speakers, developing friendships & going to the temple. There were also times for fun and exercise. All in all it was a great time, good food and getting prepared for the two years in the Czech Republic.

MTC Day!

We'll say he's Starsi Lindsay, but we may still call him Kyle from time to time.

He had been with his whole family for several days and been talking on the Cell Phone to all his friends. Texting and Texting. Just a note, He was in the car with Michael and His dad about 30 minutes before entering the MTC. He hung up his phone and told us that was it he was done with all his contacting. He tossed the phone on the dash. More than 2 hours later when we looked at his phone again, not a single call or message. We left the phone on for a few days and not another call was received. I guess he had completed his contacts.

Kyle's mom had to be in Oregon for work, but he did talk to her many times even a final "I Love You Mom" in the MTC.

Last Days before MTC

There was a lot of visiting and some snowboarding and even a little sleeping. These are great memories to take with him.

During the last few days Kyle needed to get in a few things he would not be doing over the next two years. Yes somethings were a little unexpected, But mainly he wanted to be with the family and be together. We were!
